About Me

My Photo
I love Jesus, my husband, being a stay at home mom to my little boy, New Orleans, crafting, cooking, fitness, nutrition, homemaking, hospitality, being outside, black coffee, chai tea, reading, journaling, thrifting, and deep conversation. Food is my love language; through food I savor memories, create traditions, and serve others.

play date

Noah and I had a play date with a friend and her 3 boys at the park today.  We are so blessed that City Park is only about a mile from our house!  It holds the biggest playground around, with lots of equipment for big and little kids.  The playground even overlooks a pond that is filled with ducks and swans, so Noah gets to enjoy some wildlife while he plays.  It really is the perfect little spot for him, he always has a great time there!

I tend to be an introvert, and could be comfortable with hardly ever leaving our home.  But I'm a very extroverted introvert, because I really do love getting to know new people, hearing their stories, and making new memories with friends that I already have.  And as much as I could just hide out in our house all of the time, I always enjoy getting out, and getting some social interaction.

When pondering these tendencies this morning, I realized that God wants me to both get out, and stay in.  He wants me to use my home as a place of hospitality and ministry.  To maintain it as a warm environment, that is filled with His presence.  To invite others into that, and serve them.  But He also wants me to get out, to be a light to the world, which involves going into the world... which today meant going to the park, engaging those whom I encountered, and loving them in action and in truth.  And today, Noah and I had so much fun doing just that!
